Symbiotic Innovation:
- Virtual drug discovery & extramural development in problem-oriented industry-sponsor partnerships with academia and other partners interested in a leveraged optimized value creation models along the complete value chain
- Motivated leaders to work together supported by a specifically selected management team world-wide and beyond established institutional boundaries in order to create value and allow collective learning
- Explore and validate novel models for motivation and value creation from public and commercially financed research; all partners operate at eyesight and participate in the return on investment.

Newly emerging business models will require highly skilled people linked in networks of excellence as well as fast track evaluation tools and short communication pathways to enable collective learning and value creation
The pharmaceutical industry currently establishes innovative new business models and creative concepts to generate sustainable portfolios. InnVentis appreciates this trend and provides flexible research and development solutions in order to create successful partnerships with acadmic and industrial leaders. Furthermore, InnVentis understands it's role as a think tank combined with a virtual business development unit; i.e. we actively evaluate additional drug targets/technologies related to steroid hormone pathways that compete in a relevant indiction. We provide this knowledge as separate service as part of our own business development approach and can most rapidly adjust our early stage programs to the demand, since our virtual networks comprises all leaders along the various targets that can be addressed with our smal molecule engine.
However, value creation is principally based on a "non-profit" partnership model, that, at the end, will certainly generate IP of commercial value that will be passed through to implemented technology transfer office; i.e. all value will pro-actively commercialized by the managment that has the greatest incentive with the sponsor having a right of first refusal.
Single academic institution may not optimally serve their scientists interest to collaborate with divers institutions and even commercially oriented companies. Therefore a highly trusted mediator that build these interest, focusses resources and ensures a faire revenue sharing model must be installed; i.e. a virtual institute with simple and fast processes. Caveat, members must prove to the members committee a significant potential to contribute value and asure progress of the projects, because their return will only relate to the paid membership fee and be independent from the actual impact of their contribution; obviously all net-cost of a member must be covered after a project has been commercialized and are compensated before any real profit will be distribute to all members that were a priori assigned to the relevant project.
The general idea is to from teams with the high ambition to proof the successful drug development until the entree into the clinic is possible with highly reduced costs within time-frames shortening the development process by at least 3 years.
InnVentis proposes a "one-stop-shop" product generation engine for the pharmaceutical industry, that avoids royalties stacking, as well es time consuming negotiations with institution with incompatible commercial and scientific interests.
Therefore, InnVentis highly relays on the enthusiastic support of an increasing membership and sponsors to generate a strong leading sponsor that must have a specific interest in the projecnt an contstitue an added value; in some specific cases this might be public-private-partnership that also enables value generation in a symbiotic innovation engine.
Based on the relevant project we may enter in a virtual drug development cooperation as well as the the recruitment to evaluate an early stage discovers project for a project even before the team members wish to enter into drug development collaboration with InnVentis.

Selected challenges in drug discovery and InnVentis answer:
Polypharmacology: large-scale mapping of polypharmacology interactions reveals promiscuity of drugs and leads across the proteome. Polypharmacology on a firm practical and theoretical footing is a major challenge for the development of future safe and clinically differentiated therapies. Engage clinical leaders and scientists closely related to your prime and off-targets, for consultation
Consequence: need to eliminate risk of cross-reactivity within/beyond target families; InnVentis has generated a PoC that screening against a variety of HSDs is a must to secure minimal off-target enzyme inhibition.
High attrition rates: 3% chance to reach preclinical development for a NCE against a new target versus 17% for a validated target.
Increasing late stage clinical failure: 82% (1996-99) to 91 % (2001-03)
Consequence: Balance portfolio between validated versus not validated targets and indications; distribute information and material for PoC but secure IP accordingly.
Diverting technologies: Drug development for divers targets becomes increasing complex and costly
Consequence: Focus cutting edge drug discovery and development technologies on target families rather disease areas and pathologic mechanisms; get the best to work to gether
The innovation gap: Pharma will need to create new incentives for enterpeneurship and innovation within its existing organisations
Consequence: Creative entrepreneurial partnering models may help to increase Pharma's ROI by changing the existing R&D paradigm and licensing strategies
InnVentis' Symbiotic Innovation approach summary in the context of a concise scientific context.
InnVentis established flexible ab initio drug development collaborations and discovery projects. InnVentis aims to optimally exploit the various indications that have been linked to hydroxysteroid dehydrogenases and steroid hormone related pathways in general: Hydroxysteroid Dehydrogenases are a rapidly emerging target class; as are nuclear receptors and intracellular modulators of steroid hormone actions; Ip was generated for this and other glucocorticoid related-targets, that address major markets.
Currently InnVentis is in discussions of outlincensing a late stage product.
InnVentis partnerships are in the process of generating proprietary new chemical entities (NCEs) which will be developed until clinical development. Furthermore, using its proprietary hypothesis-driven projects design approach, InnVentis links hydroxysteroid dehydrogenases to novel indications and combines these inhibitors with compounds that reduce inherent risks for cardiovascular events or inflammation..
InnVentis appreciates the increasing demand to support Big-Pharma's desire to further develop propietary compounds by external validation and preclinical development while generating an extended pool of NCEs..
Besides engaging a Sponsor ab initio, funding will be generated by obtaining grants from governmental agencies worldwide that will be complemented by public-private-partnerships including private foundations as well as support from industry leaders in the bio-pharmaceutical industry |
